What a morning!
The DriveTrain Dash went ahead on a properly cold Ballito morning. We swapped the trails for coffee, fireside chats and great company at @holla_trails and the support that showed up to meet Cody, Josh, and Madi was incredible.

What a weekend at the SA XCM Champs and race up at Karkloof! 🎉 The Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival once again delivered the goods and absolutely smashed it. Riders from all over South Africa descended on @karkloofcountryclub and the vibes were electric.
Great results across the board, and as always, those fantastic but properly technical trails kept everyone smiling (and breathing hard). Absolute treat to ride.

These two incredible ladies rode to win the NTT Data Masters Women category, claiming the blue jersey with style and grit after 8 epic days in the saddle. They started strong, sitting in 2nd after the opening stages, then battled hard in an intense race-within-a-race to hold onto their lead all the way to the finish line. What a masterclass in determination and teamwork, and a big congratulations to the podium winners 🏆
The post-stage-race blues are real... we`re all feeling that empty, "what now?" vibe after such an intense week. But these two finished in the blue jersey, and we`re pretty sure they`re experiencing a whole different (and much happier) kind of blue right now! 😄
We are so incredibly proud of the grit, resilience, and heart they showed every single day. This is a massive achievement and an inspiration to so many.

🚴♂️ Springbok legend @stranners10 along with several other riders and DriveTrain riders, will be starting the Hope Ride: From Sea to See this Saturday. The ride is a 14-day, 2,500km journey from Durban to Swakopmund; a route that has never been cycled as an organised event! The journey will take them through some of South Africa’s most iconic towns and dramatic landscapes and end with the 400km Desert Dash.
This epic ride is to raise funds for the LumoHawk Foundation’s mobile eye clinics that screen, test, and provide free spectacles to learners in underfunded schools.
👓 Up to 15% of children struggle at school simply because they can’t see clearly. Together, we can change that and give South Africa’s children the gift of sight. Every R2500 raised helps provide help to 10 children!

We need support to help lift up one of our own!!! This is JL. A young cyclist.
Cycling isn’t just a hobby for him, it’s his passion, his happy place, the thing he lives for. He’s the kid who’s always out on his bike with the biggest smile.
Last week, this changed in an instant. JL was in a terrible accident: a broken femur, a crushed vertebra, and emergency surgery. Right now he’s in critical condition in hospital, fighting hard. The doctors say the road ahead is long, and JL’s biggest fear is that he might never ride again.
He needs to know he’s not alone.
He needs to feel the love and the good vibrations from the cycling community.
Keep fighting, champ!

On Thursday, 13 November... what should have been a fun day on the trails..ended in tragedy. Young cyclist @jl.vd.merve123 crashed and suffered severe injuries: a broken femur and a crushed C5 vertebra. Emergency services and his friends acted fast to get him to hospital. JL underwent surgery. His femur was pinned and his C4 and C6 vertebrae fused. The DRIVETRAIN cycling community is sending love and support to JL and his family through this time of healing.
